Client-Centered, Collaborative, and Encouraging
My therapeutic approach comes from an integrative perspective and mostly incorporates client-centered philosophies in efforts to be collaborative in exploring approaches that best fit each client while encouraging personal understanding and growth.
Primarily, I work individually with adults with severe mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, addictions, and those coping with traumatic experiences and life stressors. I enjoy working with children and adolescents while utilizing play therapy techniques in my work with children. Also, I provide couples and family therapy. My previous experiences include conducting neuropsychological evaluations with adults suffering with substance abuse issues as well as evaluating children and adults with learning disabilities and other psychological concerns for a more comprehensive understanding of the individual’s overall functioning to provide proper recommendations and referrals to assist with treatment. Throughout my clinical experiences, I have always enjoyed exploring alternatives to medication while working with my clients.
I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology as well as my Masters degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Chicago. The completion of my Bachelor of Science degree was at the University of Florida. My strong interest in perfectionism and family dynamics initiated some of my past research.
